Indians hurt in freak incident

Dubai, May 30: In a freak incident, two Indian workers in Bahrain were injured after they fell from a scaffolding when an unidentified man started shaking it.

According to a report in the Gulf Daily News newspaper, the two workers, hailing from the Indian states of Kerala and Andhra Pradesh, were working on a signboard of a computer shop near the Gudaibiya police station in Bahrain's capital Manama when the incident happened.

The men were perched atop the scaffolding when a stranger, who came in a car, stopped and started shaking the scaffolding. The duo then fell below and then the 40-kg signboard crashed on them causing injuries.

The supervisor of the workers, who was nearby, rushed to the spot but the culprit had managed to escape by then. However, the supervisor managed to get the licence number of the car.

The two injured workers were admitted to the Salmaniya Medical Complex for treatment.
