Youth Internship Programme


The Government of India is encouraging participation of diaspora from all over the world to cultivate and productively engage the second generation of the diaspora with India.

The Diaspora Youth Internship Programme, which was started in the 2nd Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, provides a unique forum for students and young professionals of Indian origin to share their views, experience and expectations from India.

It is for youth in the age group of 18-25 years who are of Indian origin and and who have preferably not visited India in the past 10 years.

The duration of the programme is 2-3 weeks. By introducing them to various facets of India, an attempt is made to forge a long lasting relationship between them and India.

Later on, they join help the organisers of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in their preparations for the event and participate in various activities at the three-day annual conclave.
